tool use plays a central role in the formation and development of human culture. In the first part of 2001 , "The Dawn of Man," shows us Kubrick the first tool use by apes who discover that a bone can be used as a weapon and so prevail against rival herds at the water hole and also their meager food supply by Meat can be complementary. The most famous of the ellipse Filgmeschichte, bones - spaceship puts us further several million years, at the peak of technical development: the human race in outer space is a regular on the road, there are colonies on the moon and a trip to Jupiter using an intelligent supercomputer is pending.
The technology is here a second nature, an artificial habitat, the habitat of ground in a completely hostile environment, in space, reconstructed. The astronauts live in the interior of the spermiumförmigen Discovery under the effect of artificial gravity, some of them in artificial sleep, the spacecraft is controlled by a küstlichen crew member is equipped with superior intelligence and emotions seem more manageable. The technique allows the survival of the people here in space, while more and more removed from the original natural biotope (soil) and alienating.
